The world leader in the area of information technologies, Samsung Group, shows much attention to talented personnel with strong business skills, leadership potential, and career aspirations. Recognizing a compelling need for high-quality leaders led Samsung Electronics to create the Global Scholarship Program. The program identifies Individuals who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential and provides them with unique opportunities for leadership development. The program provides young leaders with a unique international network through which they can share ideas, learn from established leaders, work collaboratively and address global challenges. By exposing participants to the complex issues and opportunities arising from an increasingly interdependent global economy, the program aims to expand perspectives and enhance skills critical for leadership in a changing world.

Each year 15 ~ 20 Individuals are chosen every year from different parts of Globe namely India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Russia, Romania, Egypt, Vietnam. Till date, we have recruited 27 Individuals from India in the Global Scholarship Program and out of which 17 have already joined Samsung and its other Overseas Subsidiaries and 7 will graduate in 2009 and 3 in 2010.

Samsung Electronics initiates two unique kinds of Scholarship Program encouraging further studies and developing Future Global Leaders.

1. GSP (MS Program) through Seoul National University (SNU) Alumni
2. GSP (MBA Program) through Sung Kyun Kwan University (SKK) Alumni

1. All tuition expenses are covered by Samsung
2. Monthly living allowance (approximately USD 1000 per month)
3. Dormitory support for living
4. Two round-trip plane tickets between his or her mother country and Korea during the course (once a year)
5. Medical insurance for students
6. Summer / Winter Internship at Samsung.
7. Employment with Samsung Electronics Corporation, South Korea after graduation.

This program is funded by Samsung Electronics Co. (SEC) in an effort to cultivate Global Leaders for research and development in the field of Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering.

• Applicant should be a Citizen of India.
• Applicant should be among the top 10 % of the Class graduating from a premier institute.
• B.Tech/BE in the field of Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics, Instrumentation or Communication Engineering.
• For Undergraduates: Should be in their Final year of Bachelor Degree and Complete the graduation by April ~ May.
• For B.Tech/B.E Graduates: Applicant Up to 2 years of work experience.

1. Upon completion of studies at SNU, the scholarship recipient is required to work at SEC (in Korea) for 2 years in an appointment related to his or her major.
2. After 2 years of employment at SEC, he or she may continue to work at SEC Korea or return to his or her home country to work for a local subsidiary of SEC, upon mutual agreement between him or her and SEC.

The Samsung Group places special emphasis on the employment of specialists holding MBA degrees from topnotch Baltic universities majoring in various areas of business Administration and it also offers a unique Sponsored MBA Program: GSP-SKK Program for talented youth willing to broaden their horizons, deepen their knowledge, and join Samsung Electronics in future. The SKK-GSB is a business school newly founded in the strategic alliance with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management.

• Applicant should be a Citizen of India.
• Applicant should be among the top 10 % of the Class graduating from a premier institute.
• Applicant with the Bachelor Degree in the field of Commerce/Humanities/ Management/Administration.
• For Undergraduates: Must be in their Final year and complete their graduation by May ~ June.
• For Graduates: Bachelors with 0 - 2 years of work experience in the field of marketing & related areas. Even Applicant with experience in related field from Engineering Background can also apply for the Program.

1. Upon completion of studies, the scholarship recipient is required to work at SEC (in Korea) for 1-2 year and next 2-3 years at the Samsung Subsidiary in the Home Country (in India).
2. After 4 years of employment at Samsung, he or she may continue to work at Samsung upon mutual agreement between him or her and SEC.
